You can pick up a decent vfr400 for a couple of grand off ebay if it's track fun you want.

Yep I'd like an NC30, or for the same money an 01-03 CBR6/gsxr6/R6 track bike.

My mechanic has a very nice ex-Japanese HRC race '04 Honda CBR600 F4i there though which is tempting me. HRC CDI, factory HRC akrapovic race full system, WP shock and fork internals, NHK steering damper, new battery, tyres and air filter for $5,500. I'm thinking of making an offer for it less the new parts, in which case I can get the parts cheaper and save money on labour - I'd most probably get away with paying less than $5,000. Although I think this bike is a little fast for me. Might do a few track days on an NC30 before I go to a 600. :?

hmm I've got my eye on that one Cammo, I might go see it tomorrow if I have time. A friend is letting me borrow his R6 track bike for my track day in a couple weeks though, so that may get me hooked on the 600's. To date I can't fault my 400 and would love to get an NC30 track bike, however for an extra $2,000 I can get a 600 that is 10-12 years younger, has full exhaust, power commander, aftermarket suspension and is much easier to get parts for..
