Pretty high number 1989 model. Highest i've seen. There weren't that many made in 1989 I heard.

Probably an idea here, just to note only your frame no. last 4 or 5 digits then? And them compare it.
In between my NC35's it only differs 189 NC35 frames(bikes) from eachother, which is pretty close.

May you please reword that? I can't understand what you wrote at all.

Hmm I've stripped my nc30 down recently so it's in bits all over the garage. Whilst crouching to pump my cg125's tyres i looked at the frame number on the nc, never payed attention to it before, but it would appear to be one of the first 200 made. [LOUD BLENDER NOISE... ]... and then he offered £200k for it. Which was nice.

The NC30 Parts Catalogue actually gives the beginning and ending frame numbers--but only for the K and L models. Honda published several editions of the NC30 parts book, but the latest version I have seen is v.6:
According to this, there were approximately 4,269 J-spec NC30s manufactured in 1989 and approximately 9,240 J-spec NC30s manufactured in 1990. There were also NC30s manufactured for other markets, which may (or may not) be included in these figures. Only Honda Japan knows the answer to that...
(The "2J" "3J" and "4J" area codes apparently refer to certain prefectures within Japan, which had slightly different requirements for the sale of new motorcycles, such as relating to the speed limiter/warning light used at the time.)
Ciao,

As far as I know the last six numbers on the VIN are Sequential production numbers, and they also refer to the production location within japan as they were not all made in the one factory..

According to European parts list.
UK 1990 RL VIN 6 -580
Austria 1990 RL 9-579
UK 1991 7- 367
Germany 416 -1163
France 420- 1247
It seems that apart from 1991 UK bikes straight run that they were produced in batches with sequential vin numbers for 2 markets. That makes it impossible to determine how many UK 1990 bikes were made.
E.G. 575 1990 RLs within numbering range 6 -580 for UK and France.
These are not included in the chart shown for jdm as European vin numbers start 2000 not 1000 which is JDM
So, 575 1990, 1241 1991 plus the JDM shown in the previous chart.

I had one of the first 20 MR2 Turbo's built me and the guy I bought it from had no idea, I bought it cheap as it was an old one then stripped its guts and raced it, few dints and a couple of broken clutches later I sold it for £500. Its the first one of that spec and Toyota agreed the value to insurers at £10K since it was recommissioned. Chassis no was SW20 0000012 GT Turbo coupe, climate control and T bars suede seats and deep pile carpets that I threw away as it was extra weight all in the dark red that was only used for the first 6 months of production. Lesson learnt in paying attention to what it might be.....
And it turns out my VFR is a late 92 by the looks of it with its 110 start and late 6287 finish.

My 92 type 7 has a VIN and engine number at over 10000, and as the fairings are all original, the pimple stamps all show 92 and 9,
So thats either week 9 or month 9, I have no idea.
So over 10000 Jap models produced that year
