Are the float needles the little pistons with rubber ends on them or the long ones that stick out of the diaphram?

They are the ones that hang off the float assembly with a rubber point on them. ;)

Maker sure that the floats can seat properly (e.g. stop fuel from entering the carb).

There's a small tab on teh floats that if bent incorrectly will sto[ them from seating and flood teh carbs.

Long shot but worth a look.

I've ordered new ones today but was wondering is there any way of testing them?

When I put my carbs back together it done the same. But it soon settled floats are just sticking.

Well you'll be glad to know that its stopped flooding. :grin: Changed the float needles,Needle jets and main jets and she runs great. So now I can start putting her back together for the mot. :grin:
