I bloody hate loud exhausts, I nearly had an accident the other day,Biker shot past me very very fast with the loudest exhaust and scared the living s**t out of me.
They should ban all after market exhausts with removeable baffles so that no one can remove them from the exhaust.

Rick, Neo, sorry if you thought I appeared to be getting stressed on this, I wasn't, just doing several things at the same time. I hadn't returned to this as I'd already taken Rick's (excellent) advice and disappeared to the boozer where I took that advice several times over
But Neo I haven't at any time suggested anyone else should fit HIDs, here or indeed anywhere else, I just disputed the 'illegal' claim.
Ian, now returned to sobriety.

You are very picky with wording, you don't happen to be a lawyer do you?
They actually consume less current than standard lights, the one I fitted comes with it's own loom and protection.
They are (relatively) new technology so the legislation that's in place isn't applicable, so until they are challenged in the courts or new legislation comes into force they are neither legal nor illegal. On my NC24 there is no more spill than the original crap H4, the cut off is crisp but the output is so superior.
So while you didn't explicitly approve of HID light kits one can quite easily infer from your statement that they have superior output and consume less power than the standard lights that you support them, if you didn't want people to come to this conclusion maybe you should have stated that as well...
Oh and I also took Ricks advice

Been a long while since I drank a case of beer in one sitting,
