Yes, sort of. A restored OE looking bike with fewer mods is what I'm aiming for (so the aftermarket items are more limited to suspension, brakes and a few carbon trinkets).

Slight change of subject, but is your cleaning guide still about mate?

Im really gutted you're all that way down south, Craig mate. Im up in Darlington, but would have loved to have met you and had a look at your bike . Im currently on a GPZ500S that clacks like a letter box at tickover Waiting for some gumption to get my hands back on my project NC30 thats sat in the garage.
On that subject... I don't suppose you've ever had to remove a partially-melted exhaust stud from an engin block before, have you? Its got me stuck, and I cant move forward until its sorted

The nearest I've had is a couple of broken exhaust studs I'm afraid Brain, I asked Dad to tap new threads for me and they've seemed okay since.

I've finally got a week off from work - my last was Christmas - I guess I'm a creature of habit/routine, and I hadn't realised the summer was almost over. No rest for the wicked though; I plan to clean up my CBR a little, as well as finishing this project.

Exhaust and rearsets arrived from Rhory a couple of weeks ago - massive thanks for all your help. NC30v also kindly sent me through some clocks to play with, as the Translogic is off to a lucky forum regular.

The pipes were in good condition, so all that was needed was a quick scrub up. Seemed to come up nice, although the metal requires a little more finishing until I'm happy to fit them.





I used the best parts of both clocksets I now have to make a fairly good condition single set. After a little cleaning, they were all but ready to fit. Need to finish the wiring though, everything needs checking over properly before I put the fairing back on. I also replaced my Renthal grips with OE Honda items, and shuffled the switchgear on the lhs clipon - no need for the Translogic mode switch any more, and I needed to make sure the clutch doesn't foul my new/old speedo.





Next step is to start restoring the rearsets from Rhory. I scored some rubber topped pegs from Ebay, which resemble OE items pretty nicely, so other than some mounting bolts, hopefully won't be long until they're ready.

Quite productive this morning, I've managed to make a good start on my rearsets.







Not box fresh - there's a few deeper marks that would take some hefty sanding to remove, but I'm happy at how they're coming along. Non standard pegs look better than I was expecting them to imo.
