Paul, about that sticker on the HRC cdi, this is what I found on my project bikeCRM wrote:...
Tearing off all the panels, and rubbish i am greeted with signs of a aerosol "touch up" on the subframe, with a bit of overspray on anything else in the vicinity. however thats nothing. what did greet me was this. a HRC CDI which was nice. peeled the sticker back and sure enough a pukka HRC item. ...

Re: CRM's RVF400 project - Project " skinned knuckles*"
Well not alot to report really, its getting cold out there, lights fading so time to work on it is becoming limited so i need to get my arse into gear.
as you can see its got no rear, this week i need to remove the front wheel and get these off to tony, so hopefully in 2 weeks it will have a pair of fresh white wheels fitted and it can be moved around.
rear shock was actually good, a tad more preload (for my bulk) and a clean and refitted with some fresh grease on the linkages and rollers.
changed the rear manifold and fitted the lovely laser exhaust system, just need some springs to hold it together.
carbs cleaned, and jetted to suit, new carb rubbers, clean engine all degreased and as clean as a scabby old cast RVF engine can get.
Swingarm still needs more work but its cleaning slowly.
So as you can see, until its clean under the skin and adjusted and greased, there is not much point putting its clothes back on.
Still need a new nosecone and a clear or light tint screen so if anyone has one
