Anythings possible.
NC30 engine would be interesting.
Pictures speak a 1000 words.
You can't swap ignition boxes, there totally different, as are all the engine internals.
If you have an NC30 engine you'd need the NC30 coils and NC30 igntion box too, plus it'd look like a major hack under the bodywork.
Engine number is located just above the side-cover of the engine on a place, I think left hand side but can't recall.
Easy tests.
What does your ignition box look like, is it still under the passanger seat? Black OKI box?
Finally
How many coils do you have? 2 or 4? Are they wired separatly?
Can you get some pics up.
Do you still have the oil cooler?

hmmm, i dont think there is anything under the passenger seat...
as far as i can remember it has two coils, each has two spark plug leads..
to be honest, it doesnt look bodged.. looks like the right engine for the frame.
i will try post pictures up but if its anything like the avitar, i cant post a pic up of the bike as an avitar unfortunatley!
thought it would be nice for you guys to see what it is your helping to get right!
i dont have a working internet connection at home at the moment so will be trying to do everything using my phone, so appologise in advance for bad spelling mistakes.

Two coils with two leads would be an NC30 engine.suzbug wrote:hmmm, i dont think there is anything under the passenger seat...

NC24 wont run with two coils unless you have some very creative wiring.
And it has an oil cooler too?
That could well be a UK NC30 engine... very very interesting.
Deffo get some pics up!
Very intrigued now.
If it is an NC30 thats why your tacho doesn't work

Is the motor black or is it a metallic dark grey?
