right lads after replacing many parts on the bike it now finnally runs, the shorting was caused by bad connections through out the loom, the starter motor had problems where the fuse holder on the solenoid relay had bad contacts, and the spark problem.... still unsure about that but after fidleing with the wires it fires up every time now, cheers everybody for your help.
