HOw many plates are in it then? It should be a bit of a pig to get the nut on...

a fiche is what you use to find out what parts are required for your bike - it is basically an exploded diagram of all the components etc.

Go and download the NC30 one from akhara.com

part 12 - this is the little piece that fits on the end of the slutch pushrod - it slots over the end and then fits into a bearing that then fits into the pressure plate.

I would take the clutch apart and do it again - get the right amount of plates in there, make sure all circliips are fitted too and take us a lot of pics. They are simple beasts and we'll sort it!!

I put the same amount of plates in each time. I can't recall how may are in there, but when i first replaced the friction pads, i did it one for one like in Declan's video tut.

I'll get a finch and attack the clutch again. It'll be tomorrow now as i have work at 5. I charge the batteries on the camera and be sure to take plenty of pictures.

Quicky update, went up to put tools away and started it in first with clutch in and the wheel stopped with out the engine stalling but the wheel wouldn't start spinning again when i let the clutch out.

I'll get out there first thing and crack on with stripping the clutch down. :)

thats FINE! It's not supposed to start spinning again once you stop it, sometimes it will if you rev the bike etc.

I'd take the bike for a ride and see how it is.. you might need to adjust your clutch able out a bit more to pull the clutch further if it's crunching at low rpm when you engage gear but that sounds good to me

Hello,

Got the bike out this morning, got it out on the road started it up, putt it into first no crunch but it did lurch forward a bit. Went to pull away but she wouldn't move. Put her into neutral and back into first lurched forward again she wouldn't move and when i let the clutch out there was a high pitch squealing i stopped the engine and put her back in the yard.

Is it time to start stripping that clutch down again??

Did you manage to get the clutch nut torqued to the right setting and then stake it?

I'd take the clutch out and start again. Take some pics of it installed and as you dismantle it and then lay it out as per the fiche pics Neo put up.. Make sure you have the right amount of plates in each half of the clutch and go from there.
you'll sort it..it is just going to be a process of elimination.

iv gotta replace the cam chain tensioner in my blade in the morning, if all goes smoothly with no issues then i maybe able to pop round in the afternoon to have a look with you?

I have 9 friction plates and 8 metal plate, I've compared all the parts and have everything on the finch and appears to be in the correct order. SHould the basket be able to move backwards and forwards? - it moves about half an inch atm.

So is it now just a case of trying to put it all back together?

just give me a shout if you need any help, i have done most of the work tonight with the cam chain, dont get me wrong, i love mr honda. but who ever designed the position for the cct on a 929 blade wants a kick up the ass! you need the hands of a girl to even get near it. all i have to do is check the tension and see if all is good in the morning and i should be free the rest of the day. chris
