I've gone through those already. Even reworked that NC24 guide myself. Can't get it right though...
My question is, when doing number 1 and 3 cams, you line the crank up to the T1 mark and then are both the inlet and exhaust cams supposed to be at 0deg?
Then the same for cylinders 2 and 4 just using the T2 mark?

Why did you take the camshafts out for? How do you know the timing is wrong? Did you take pictures before you took it apart?
I dont think that guide needs any work.
Anyway, Its easy to install the camshafts. Just make sure you have the right camshafts and not mixed up.
Put the timing mark to T1 and install both the rear head camshafts with the timing marks lined upwards.
Rotate the starter clutch bolt to turn the engine into the correct position for 1 /4 turn (450 degrees) to get the T2 timing mark to be lined up and install the front head cams with the lines facing up.

Ah ok so I had it right. No I didn't take pics because I knew the guide was there. Had the heads off to grind the valves.
Thanks for the info. Everyone's been pointing to diagrams etc haha all that was needed was that simple wording. My brain's too asleep for battling with this bike now :O

make sure you have set the valve clerances properly after regrinding the vales too

NB! Just to clarifiy: 1 & 1/4 turns = 450 degrees and not 1/4 turn.

Easy.

This applies for NC21 and NC24 engines. Beware, this is NOT for NC30 or NC35, as they are completely different.
Center of upper pick up coil is exactly the same aligned, as the static mark on the engine cover, so you can use this as the static mark as it gives a much easier view.
