if you look at it like that, top left is Red (+) top right is green (-)
The bottom 3 are the yellows (any order)
Just about to fit the new R6 reg, I'm guessing you put the two reds and two greens off the viffer loom together?
And the yellows any order?
Formerly RacingSlug. Felt like a change and it came down to either Biscuits, Ben10 (possible copyright issues) or NinjaSmokeWarrior. The wife suggested TwatMan.

Ok. So I'm stood here halfway to work waiting for the mrs to bring my spare battery. Seems I have exactly the same problem. Still. My new 8ah battery got me about ten miles, taking it easy, Lights on. See if my old 14ah can get me home eh? What's the betting the genny has decided to cash it's chips?

Lol... if you have lights on and your battery isn't charging your just gonna drain it :) While a 14ah one is no better it'll last a bit longer.RacingSlug wrote:Ok. Do you not have a multimeter?
Usually a knackered / old battery or an old reg/rec or a combination of the two starts to kill one another.. if left un-checked will kill the generator too

follow that through, from the top! don't skip ANY steps and make sure you have a fully charged battery before you start!

Re: Reg/Rec advice
Will do Mr N, cheers for that, I'll do it in the a.m.
I'm leaving the bike till it's sorted, don't want to knacker the 'new' reg or me batteries.
(un?)luckily I've borrowed my moms metallic green 2 door 1.1 Fiat Punto. Rock & Roll.

Re: Reg/Rec advice
Right, finally got the time to look at the bike.
Going through the diagnostic steps Neo has linked to above;
Step 3 showed the battery was getting no charge, checked all the connections and tested again, bugger all was going into the battery.
Step 4 was ok.
Step 5 was measured in the 20k ohm range, all were 0.03
Step 6 results were 7.4v, 5.4v, 7.6v.
I stopped there.
Anyone got a NC24 genny for sale?

With the Multimeter set to AC, hold the RPM at 5000 and check between each phase (pair of yellow wires) you should have 50vRacingSlug wrote:Right, finally got the time to look at the bike.
