A thread compairing my new CBR600RR and my old NC30

Just for the record, I like both of your bikes. The NC is a timeless classic, as are all the Honda V-4's. The RR represents the latest in modern technology and will put most bikes from 10-20 years ago to shame no matter the brand, size, or pristine condition. Let's just say Old School vs. New School. I have liked every bike that I have ever owned. They all had their high points and their low points, but were all enjoyable in some way, shape, or form. If I could, I would have kept them all, unfortunately finances wouldn't allow that so I've really only ever had one bike at a time. It seems most bike owners just want the latest and greatest, dump a ton of money into them and then get rid of them the next year, when the new model comes out. I know, I've done that time and time again. But after a while you find it is foolish, and then you try to decide which bike you want and keep it for a long time. Unfortunately, in my crazy mind, that means I would have to get one of everything and keep them all. Ah, there is that damn money problem getting in the way again! Anyone care to give me a winnning lottery ticket?

Craig get that NC mot'd and ride it, i ride i k7 750 which is more than fast and capable enough for most people but i still tend to get the RVF out the garage more when i fancy good blast.

VFR, CBR, GSX-R......if it's got two wheels and you ride it I'll shake your hand, make you a cuppa and have a chat any day of the week!

VFR is an absolute stunner - love the colour scheme - and my eye is definitely drawn there first! RR is such an accomplished bike it's hard not to love it though...

I've read a few times that the best bike for Sunday blasts, touring, commuting etc is simply whichever one is in your garage. If you have two, even better!!

See below. Note the improvement in road friendly power delivery over the previous generation CBR with no expense in outright power (which is more than enough for the road anyway). Quite as to why other manufacturers continue to chase un-useable peak horsepower figures and escalating rpm ranges, I do not know.

That's probably the reason why I would have never thought of buying a newish bike; on the whole, the development's not appealing to me. Go over 600cc and the bike's loose some of their small-bike thrashability (and sanity), stray under and they're mostly tuned for inaccessible performance. Cheers Honda for making a new bike that actually does what I want/need it to. 1300 miles on the odo now - it just seems to get better and better; it's been a while since I've been so confident of a bike's wet weather performance; and 5 days of rain was surprisingly comfortable last week.

But at the weekends, my attention's now diverted to my beloved '30...

Enjoy yourself on it,thats what biking is all about,i havn't had the NC30 out for two seasons now, i had promised myself i would put it on the road this year but due to major alterations to the house i didnt find the time, i will be biking next year, and hopefully come to one of the meets.

Lovely bikes mate you much be so happy !! funny enough was looking at this very type off bike in my local dealers last week and was amazed to see just how small they actually appear !! personally from having the opportunaty to ride both bikes just how bigger do you find the cbr in real life ?? appreciatte that the bigger bike is actualy lighter than the little nc30 just wonder if you actually notice the lighter weight in everyday riding ?? lastly just how much off a reach is te bigger bike , only 5 foot 7 here so always a bit worried if I could actually physically handle any bikes that much bigger then the nc30 which is obviously ideal for us smaller riders !!!

any advice would as always be very much appreciatted.
