It can be sorted. I seem to remember Ngneer had his done and it was low..and was diagnosed as needing a refresh...
Here is the graph for my No9.

Running RVF carbs, twin stack, open airbox etc and a bloody old and tired engine. The two curves are ignitech CDI vs STD CDI - the higher popwer - 59bhp is the std!
nice and smooth though.
Get us a better pic of the graph is you can mate - it looks like your fuelling goes very rich at higher revs?

my zxr was nowhere near that rich and the operator guesstimated it was costing me ~4bhp at the topend and that i should go down a jet size (or two) ... so i did the sensible thing and dismantled it completely in order to port and skim the head ...
should have re-jetted and gone back.. would have been nice to crack 70bhp with an internally stock engine :)

Hamster,what condition is your chain and sprockets,
I will tell you a little story,A long time ago i bought one of the first uk nc30 in the country,
I went to the TT on it, while there dynojet where in the paddock so of course i could not resist
the temtation,when i asked to run my bike they jumped at me becuase an nc30 had never been
run before,on running the bike they felt there was a problem,as it was only showing 42bhp they found,
problem NO1 i had removed the snorkle,problem NO2 they then pointed out my chain was well worn,
Ok as we were in the paddock i was able to by a chain,so i fitted the new chain and back to the
dyno,54bhp,at the wheel, but still no snorkle,So make sure the chain and sprockets are good.becuase thats,
12bhp.
PS.13000miles is only just run in.

I would be looking to get a freebie run from the dyno place and take the filter out...
Are you on the std sewing machine exhaust?
It is too rich by miles from the look of the a/f graph so sticking bigger jets in is not the done thing to sort that out. End of the day the air is what you need in an engine, the more air the better up til you melt the pistons and valves...but you get the point!

Spoke to Kevin at Projex, and go tthe bike booked in again for tomorrow for another Diagnostic run and to try and tweak the Carbs a bit more. I really cannot see how the bike could of lost that much power. Almost everything is not far off brand new that should be brand new!
Anyway, what he has said, is that he would happily arrange a Dyno Day for us all so we can all see who is talking tosh and who isnt. Get all the bikes on the same dyno on the same day in the same conditions and it will sort this all out. LOL
A single Dyno Run is £30, but he has said for a larger group we can make a day of it and bring the price down considerably, maybe even to £15 a run.
Great Idea for a ride -out dont you think??
Show some interest and Ill sort it out...

Just thought I would pop in to this and just backup everyone saying about that dyno being low, when I had Mark's old twin stack put on my bike (everything else is completely standard engine wise) it was make 62.7 bhp at the rear wheel. The graph can be seen below. I'm sure if you ask him Mike at BMC will back this up as being true.

[1] I'll just make sure they miss out the size and just list it as a VFR and leave everyone wondering how I managed to get ~90bhp[2] out of what they presume is a 400.

[2] Still good for an indicated 160MPH, it can't be that down on power. :-)

druid.... hes a little bit more clever than that. he tunes NC30's quite a lot apparently, has had loads on the dyno and in the workshop and his track bike, which he has modified to his own spec, with NO HRC PARTS ON IT, is apparently getting 61bhp at the rear wheel. I can only dream of that much power on mine. LOL
Dont get me wrong, I could easily get that power, but I cant afford it. LOL
