Re: My first project (NC23)
Well, got round to trying to fit my new fairing kit today and what a difficult day it's been. I really have just gotten no where. So, does anyone have any advice. I read through tyga's technical help/fitting instructions section. Was quite detailed but still I'm struggling. What I can't do, is fit the the upper cowl (so far havn't even got anywhere else) as the lights just get in the way of the meters. Nothing wants to move anywhere. I've drilled the two meter mounting points as described to 10mm (not even nine like they said). Which didn't work, I moved the bracket that holds all the wire connections (not sure of the technical name). Having failed so many times I made a couple extensions to the meter stay so I could raise the meters further. Still no. ARGH!
I dunno what todo.

Re: My first project (NC23)
Well, I seemed to have sorted it after many goes. In the end I had to move a all the wiring in front of the meters to below the meters to make the space to fit it. Even then it's still really tight and doesn't sit perfect. The air duct cover type things need re-drilling as the holes are completely off and the single seat cover I got was chipped (and not even in the post as everything else was fine and it looked really old and tatty), so filled in some of the chips. Hopefully though the bike will be road legal by the end of this week. The pistons in the callipers aren't returning so going to completely overhaul them this Saturday and the bearing in the rear wheel need replacing as there's some play. I hope it's just the bearings, I haven't had the wheel out to check yet. What else could it be? Obviously needs paint, but that can wait a bit. Gotta get some more money together as the wheels and fork bottoms need powder coating too. Here's a few pics.
