Re: problems revving up under load
FINISHED the carbs eventually!!! my 30 runs like a beast.
118f 120r, cleaned and check every single part.(i hope)
the bogging in the high revs have completely disappeared... the biggest problem i found was that the emulsion tubes were swopped. the idiot the worked on my bike previously must have put it in like that.
but i still have the problem with the idling. when i start up the bike when its cold it happens. it starts up fine, but the idling is wobbly when cold and drops to below 1rpm and then it starts to missfire.
the next step im gona take is to sync the carbies... hopefully that will sort out the idling problem.

Re: problems revving up under load
If only one cylinder is flooding it can only be a limited number of things:
- the float is not adjusted correctly (spec is 6.8mm)
- the carb float needle valve is not seating, letting fuel through constantly
- the float has a hole in it, letting fuel through constantly (I've seen this on old/neglected sets of carbs)
- pilot screw setting is too rich (should be 2.25 turns out)
- choke mechanism needing adjusting
The only way to tell is to remove the float bowl and inspect it.
It could also be:
- a weak plug that fouls easily
- poor plug lead/connection
If it was a coil issue both cylinders would suffer the same problem.

Re: problems revving up under load
It is probably best to replace the set, but I've replaced just one many times, it's fine.
I dod over 30,000 road km's on one set of plugs once. They either work or they don't in my opinion!

Re: problems revving up under load
Geez! wats the heck is happening? saturday it was 40degrees (celcius) my bike was running good all week no problems. i went to see someone and parked the bike in the sun. when i left it started fine. when i got to the first traffic light the engine just went dead. i managed to get in started and limped on home with the rear cylinders working only. WTF??? i eventually found the the front coil wasn't connecting to the frame because of rusty points on the front coil's bolts. i cleaned it off and the bike was running all good again. yesterday(sunday) i went for a breakfast run my bike was running great 206k/h on a flat straight. its tempreture was extremely high though. even the frame and pegs were extremely hot.why?
later the even. i started the bike and the front left cylinder wasn't firing and it still isn't.

Re: problems revving up under load

bikes running ok... still flooding the one cylinder thought... i managed to get the nick of starting it without having it flood. i start up and ride. this bike does not want to be idled.

i've noticed the emulsion tubes are worn....hmmm. but do you know how hard it is to find in Cape Town. SHIT!!! i could possibly get it reconned or remade. but i need specs???? can anyone help me with dis? like what length/ size/ hole sizes.ect? and yes they are in the correct place. but could it be a cause of my flooding problem?
