The `dustbin` probably contains EXUP-style valves for variable exhaust geometry same as the current Fireblade does (and the obligatory Cat of course).
No doubt it will be smooth, civilised and powerful but the question still remains - if a 1987 RC30 can produce glitch free power from tickover to the red line, a flat torque curve and massive tractability with none of that then why add all the complication...?
(Yes, you`ve got it - so that you`ll be too intimidated to raise a spanner to it and Mr H can make a fortune on service charges...!)

Is it just me or has the world gone mad? Why cut 2 cylinders for economy when its a 1200cc behemoth? Lets face it most of the time you will be riding, lugging all that weight and complexity around with you. Thats like driving a massive Lexus offroad hybrid? If you are that worried about economy get something small and light, the rest are all just token gestures so if the topic arises at a dinner party you dont look like the bad guy.
For most people the VFR750 and 800 brilliant bikes because they offered useable power in a useable chassis. I think if Honda offered a decent basic VFR, possibly a shaft drive version for touring/commuting they might loose the PR race but they would make it up with real world customers. After all, look at the VFR400 we all love. Honda UK would not even sell it in most markets yet it remains one of their most successful bikes.

looks like their after some of bmw's sales if thats the final version maybe some other variants to come yet v5 sports bike anyone ?

I was checking some parts prices for Tony B today when something caught my eye - each Honda part has a `details` box on the EPC (electronic parts catalogue) database giving its price, size, weight etc. and also the original and latest models which that particular part fits. I noticed that the `latest model` entry for a Fireblade bar end weight now says `VFR1200F10`, which would seem to confirm that it`s more than just a rumour.
Also the fact that it`s a VFR1200F (whereas the 800 VTEC is simply a VFR800) would seem to imply the potential existence of a VFR1200R would it not...?

lol.. well according to someone from Honda (I forget who) it'll be on sale in a couple of months! I recall the line from somewhere... "makes the blade feel flat"
