Re: Track bike build'08,'09,'10,'11.........
Well Rockingham didnt go quite to plan, binned it in the morning when it was dry. A trip to the medical centre then duct taping bits togeter and bending things back into place, fitting my Wows as it was now raining i was back out and quite enjoying the wet conditions. So now now i have a small list of replacement bits i need, tyres been the most expensive.
A few lessons learnt though,
Check yours tyres after/before every session. Mine had gone off on the right hand side due to too many heat cycles.
Crash bungs really do work.
Tyga fairings are quite tough
Trackday photographers take more pics of you when youre ass in on the tarmac than your knee
Oh and your mates give you a thumbs up for a theatrical off

First pic. Who pinched the bike from under me?
Second pic. Yep the ground temperature seems to be fine when i touch it.
What damage did you and the bike sustain in that?

Bike - bent footpeg, bent fairing brace, snapped seat cowl, scrapped bungs on forks and frame, cracked nose cone. Not bad considering

Glad you're ok.
Couple of critiques.. Get your body off the seat more, at the lean angle you had in the pic prior to your trackday you have too much lean angle for the amount you are off the bike. Possibly as to why you crashed?
Remember.... IT's a trackday. If you are pushing tires too hard that are worn...... Oh wait.... It's a trackday.. Don't skimp on tires.
Not bagging on you as I have done all of the above.

Im 99% sure it was due to a wasted front tyre that the front washed out Cajun. To be fair i did look at them first off whilst checking pressures and they looked ok, although after the crash it was obvious by the super shiny hard rubber on the right side of the tyre it was fecked.
I do hang off a fair bit more than the other picture, honest
But like you said though dont scrimp on tyres.
Lesson learnt.

So with the spare frame that id had powder coated waiting to go in and Billy wanting a frame with a V5, it seemed a good excuse to strip the bike back down again. A couple of hours of work and we were left with a pile of bike.

Will get the swingarm powder coated now then start to build her back up, refreshing parts as i go along etc.

As i had sold my bike trailer due to lack of use and space, ive just bought a black powder coated frame and swingarm complete with V5. So once it arrives i will be starting to put it all together and get a daytime MOT on her.
