Get the ignitech cdi and programme it with the 'improved standard' map from Rick. That's the best in road form. The full blown HRC map is best for Track/Race use as it has better high RPM torque but lower bottom end.

I agree with the mentioned parts..eerhmm...parts wish list on previous page 17 :whistle: 8-)

Billing, tbh best put your pennies on the Ignitech. Probably start with the pre-HRC map an go from there. The TSR system is made for race/track use, upper midrange to high range revs, get it set up right and if needed combined with best optimum carbs adjustments and off you go :peace:

Cheers for the thoughts guys, looks like I'll be hitting his ROness up for ignitechy goodness :peace:

Hopefully it'll make a noticable difference, given that my bike isn't that far off standard engine wise :( Is it possible to make a map that helps get around noise testing (retarding the ignition or something) as I have a feeling I won't be able to pass noise regs at any track days :down:

Got a tip about some cheap Samcos, so saved myself around £10 including buying the clamps. I'm going to use the rest of the money (around £50) to put petrol in the tank :grin: Got the MOT booked for tuesday and got the insurance ready from 5pm on monday night :)

Will definately hit Rick O up at the end of the month if I can afford it (insurance looming @ £220 :( ) for the Ignitech, and will probably leave it at that for now, and save up for a couple of months for the big rads, and possibly RVF cams and RO road needles

searching ebay earlier I found a set of carbs listed simply as 'vfr400 carbs' clicked the picture and saw they had curve bottomed slides, so put an offer in, which was accepted :grin: So will nick those, and sell the NC24 carbs on for a bit less, not bad for £20 all in IMO

As of 20 minutes ago I'm insured to ride the VFR for the last month of my policy :grin: Can't wait to get on it tomorrow for the MOT :P

Good news! And it's NOT the Dacia Sandero! The VFR now has a green slip saying it's fine for another year :P

Got an advisory or 2 (or 8!) all on stupid little things that I knew would get mentioned, 2x low tyre tread, loud exhaust, slightly pitted front discs, low tyre pressures (only noticed when I arrived that they looked a bit squishy) and some other stuff I can't rememeber atm.

The tester likes the exhausts, says that they're just about the right volume to be nice sounding, but not so loud they would upset someone.
