Re: xivlias thread of multiple problems?
the floats have a function that they open a needle to allow fuel into the chamber.
The needles and the seat that they sit in can become either corroded (probable with the water in the system) or something can get stuck and stop it sealing.
It works like the cistern on your bog - fills with fuel and the float then applies pressure to stop the fuel. Just like when your bog refills after flushing.
They can be fixed by replacing the float needle or by proper check to see it functions OK.

If you starting it running it for 5 or 10 mins and not riding it your battery will go flat if you do it over and over.
Turn off your tap overnight and see if your problem goes away?

If you are positive which carb was/is leaking, replace the needle and seat with a new one.

Contact Geoff, I'm sure he has carbs sitting at a reasonable price.

okay, i cannot believe this... today, the bike wont start.... it started for 3 seconds, and cut off. and never started since... checked for spark in the rear plugs... NO SPARK.... removed the plugs, checked for spark with just the HT coil.. NO SPARK.... i havent checked the front yet from all the fairings. but when i remove them i will check... but i can pretty much guess that its going to have no spark.... i am seriously getting tired.... why is this happening? i was riding the bike perfectly fine yesterday... what the fuck is going on. im sick and tired every time i fix something, another thing brakes. fucking hell!
