Re: NC30 Honda Britain rep
T.scott motors are prob one of the best engines you can get. HRC's massive R&D department couldnt even do some of things he could do and he made um look pretty silly.
His work is fantastic but prob the best thing about his engines un-like other engine builders/tuners is that his motors make fooking great power BUT they reliable too thats something you dont get much with highly strung engines very very very clever man

Yea he werent a fan of the rc45 engine. makes you think why the 45s has such a cult status and why they sell for silly money even col morris said that the bike should have done soooo much better almost as if the bike failed to met race teams requirements.
you certainly had to do alot more involed work to it and lob a shed load of cash at it to make any serious power unliked the rc30 which in comparrison was a doddle

Ok I contacted kent Cams regarding copying Tony's HRC cams and they say they wont do it because regrinding will affect the rocker geometry

Re: NC30 Honda Britain rep
Yakama Joy engineering reground my cams.
DM I don't have any spec sheets for the motor,
It has all the usual, gas flowed heads.
Piston valve pockets machined deeper.
internal cranckase work.
Carbs are a work of art.
I bought this engine about 16 years ago from a guy in scotland,
I rang Tony Scott and gave him the engine number,
He confirmed it was one of his,he gave me BHP figure said it had been a good motor,
He did not fit race cams because at the time rules would not permit them.
He did tell me who it was built for but i'm afraid age is getting the better of me, don't remember.

Re: NC30 Honda Britain rep
I don't know what spec they were but they were good,The motor felt realy strong.
The procedure is to grind the base of the cam,And build up the rockers with stelite,So no oversize shims.
