Stripped it to the bare bones, cleaned the engine and chain, Bodge fixed the choke cable as it snapped last night and re-fitted everything then went for a blast and got her filthy again :) Image

Finished fitting my clip ons, serviced front and rear brake calipers and cleaned and sealed both wheels. Also cleaned and lubed the chain.

Made a list of the other things I need to do/buy over the winter.

Went out for a ride to see how badly my suspect fork seal was behaving and pick up a replacement saddle from DM. Got there with zero issue. Then promptly got lost on the way back and spent forever trying to work out where the hell I was in relation to what I could remember from the last time I got the phone out to look at the GPS. Covered 247kms and found the lower fork leg damp with oil. Battery on the other hand was healthily charged. Fork seal replaced again this evening. No idea why it was leaking, just like the last one. No damage, nothing untoward with the other parts. This time when fitting the new seal I taped over the stanchion from the very top all the way past the oil holes just in case something on the tube was nipping it, but it all seems immaculate. The only thing I found was a small score on the inside of the upper fork tube right at the end where the dust seal seats. I put some tape over this while driving the oil seal past it, even though there was only discernible if you ran your finger across the score rather than along it. Supposed to be peeing down tomorrow, so I doubt it will get tested until next weekend....

Destroyed one "easy out" tool and snapped off a bolt when attempting to remove the OE mudguard.
Wanted to install what I thought was a Silhouette unit, only to find out it doesn't fit as it's probably an RC45 one! Doh!
Now I got to somehow get that snapped bolt off...

Reconditioned carbs with new seals, 30 minutes getting the damn things back on again, plastic welded front cowl, cleaned chain and wheels with kero and a toothbrush, re wired r/r (now outputting 14.8v at idle with lights on..that's all good right?:-p). Just steering bearings and carb sync to go! (And a second hand set of plastics coming from japan)Image

Hate to tell you this but if you're going to balance the carbs you'll need to take them back off to fit the vac take offs. Unless you already did this?

Nope and I know, I don't have a vacuum gauge though so got to get someone else to do that. It runs well when above 2.5k revs, just crap below that..I'm thinking idle mixture screw too?
