GK76 Engine overhaul-What do you recommend?

Finally found some time to get the carbs back together. I went with Liteks "B" kit when I found my choke was not working smoothly. Might as well replace everything if I had to take it apart anyways.


I had never noticed the difference in the SP to standard emulsion tubes until I installed them. SP on left. The emulsion tube barely protrudes on the SP.


I think these carbs need just a few more hoses.


Time for a test start and then get everything zip tied down

They seem top notch. Mine was just the "B" kit, so it did not include all the critical jet o rings. Their website is great and the shipping/customs took just over two weeks here in the U.S.

I have this on the way. I'm a sucker for kit parts but after some thought, I'm not sure I want to mess with it on the street.

I believe this what they refer to as a "problem". I wasn't getting a spark on any of the cylinders and traced it back to here.

Shhh....don't tell anyone. It's not the only one either. Very nice SP east of town too. Mine was a non runner that a guy in the serive had in Virginia.

A quick side question (not a thread highjack, I swear... besides, this thread seems pretty resistant to highjacking) but since you've had a couple of these engines apart recently I was wondering what the signal generator wheel on those engines looks like?

I'm currently working on a 1992 GSF400 Bandit (GK75A) and when I opened up the engine side cover I got a bit of a surprise. The signal generator wheel on my Bandit doesn't look like any picture I can find of the OEM Bandit (GK75A) wheel, that includes searching the web and every depiction in my Bandit's Service Manual. I know that my Bandit was rebuilt at least once in the past so it could be the case that the engine in the bike isn't original.

I'll talke a look at my spare 76 engine when I get home today and let you know.

After a few months off I started sorting the carbs again, I was burnt out. If I took those carbs off again I was going to poor gas on the whole thing and burn it to the ground. I got few old race goodies to lift my spirits.


Not much use for these other than looks. You'd need the cover that slips over the carbs for the complete kit setup.
