Finally got chance to build up the motor tonight.
It will have to come apart again as i want to check the valve to piston/piston to head clearance with me running a combination of vfr and rvf parts but hopefully there should be no issues.
It looks abit funny at first with the silver heads and sump with black crank cases but its a track hack so as long as it goes alright im happy.

Got the motor fitted today along with the exhaust and carbs. Once ive swapped the rotor over from the old motor i can fill her with oil and see how she runs.

Nice! This is pretty much the inverse of what mine is with a silver block and black heads/cover

Fitted my replica HRC bellmouths tonight and also fitted a mesh cover just in case any stones etc ever try and enter the carbs.
Im getting rid of my waterpump so fitted a blanking plug originally from Rick Oliver. This was sourced second hand and came without a bracket to hold it in place so today at work i had 5 minutes to knock one up.
Next up was the electric water pump i got off Tony and also some new rads from Geoff.
Also a quick pic af my twin stack. Its nowt special (just a modded standard system) but wanted to be able to monitor the fuelling between front and back easily and also this has really good clearance around the linkage and swing arm unlike alot of other systems ive tried.

What mesh did you use for the carbs?
