The ER10s were black tipped and nasty. I left the front 2 in and they seemed to clear up and I will run the duff ones in no9 to get them hot and clean them up.
now it starts on the button

Royster - dude...I will do the rear head, but I want to have a quick go on it first!! I have the gaskets, the grinding paste and the dremel skills to do it so the moto should end up noisy and hopefully more powerful.
Am going to fit the G-Force genny, possible this weekend and will take a load of pics. Need to check the wiring situ as I notice Rick has done his and he reports wiring not long enough to get though the V...
Can wise - I am going to check that can out (thanks DM) and see if it is a goer. I need a shorter can than my ART can and this ally number looks lightwiehgt enough.. When I get it I will let you know! Looking forwards to it fo sho

Great thread. The bike looks and sounds amazing. How exactly did you get those quieting gears off? Any more pics of that procedure. And what bits are yea going to chop off? Have held back a bit on the chopping myself. Converting a road RVF400 to a race bike at the moment. I'ts still very std, except for suspension and fairing. I'm out for my first ever race on the 5th of april this year in mondello! Can't wait. Best of luck with the bike mate.

Have been uber busy with work and family life these last couple of weeks so nothing coming.. However..I bought a nice chain and sprockets combo and have now fitted it.
I also collected some body panels from Matty on the day of his unfortunate crash and so I have the option get out on it if I was so inclined.
A little pic of it now...lol - nothing much too new but it is looking good.
Starts on the button everytime and as soon as I fit the clutch cover, tighten the yokes, service the brakes, the hub and refit a rear caliper...then I am jamming.

glad to see its coming along so well mate, just one question, if this is going to be a purpose built race bike why are you putting the gsxr charging system in it? run total loss and get the gsxr kit in ur road/track bike
also if ur not gona race the vfr in emra would you be interested in doing castle coomb on the 22nd agaust with new era? go on im going and simmo might, you no it makes sence :D

Spikes got a point mate I run total loss on the track bike and that did 5x 20 min sessions no bother on 2 batteries and I only swapped them because I had them the less rotating mass the better and generators are not light.

an rick o sells a battery that is ment to be 60% longer lasting than a standard nc30 one, so you might even get a whole day in on the one battery

I am going to run it with the genny first though to make sure it is reliable etc. I have already bought the blanking plug from Rick for the starter motor so that is all good...
I also have a teeny YB3 battery I am going to plonk somewhere other than the subframe when I get around to it.
the G-Force kit was actually pulled out of it's drawer this afternoon and I am going to fit it when I have the time and can take no9 off the road to do it.
I am sure this bike will be cool...eventually..lol
ref Castle Coombe Spikey miladddo...hmmm tempting! Depends how the EMRA is going and whether I am minted enough to afford it (which right now, I am not - hence the garage clearout!)
