Just a quick update on whats been happening in my shed.

The red/black VFR400R got a new rear shock around the start of the year courtesy of Mr Yakama and a fibre glass hugger to try and keep it clean. Since fitting that I've spent a lot of time trying to get it to ride the best i can, I'm no Rossi but its funny how you pick up on changes and their effects once you really start looking for them.

The CBR400RR is on the road! Toward the end of last year I thought to myself, what the f##k am i doing with these bikes if I'm not riding them, either I start riding them or it's time to sell up, so i started prepping one or two to join the CB400SF and the VFR400R on the road, the CBR400RR was the first one, so once the oil/oil filter/petrol/tyres/plugs were changed I had a go at starting it... and it did start,on 3 cylinders.

So with a bit of time and trail and error ( and a few other bits i wasn't expecting to have to replace !) i got it running (finally), insured it and rode it to the mot centre, where it passed as expected but I couldn't tax it !

I rang the DVLA who told me that it looks like it dropped of the system when coleraine merged with swansea years ago,nothing i can do but more waiting required but finally I got it taxed and get my first experienced of riding a CBR400RR.

You haven't said what you thought of the ride on the nc29? Looks in good condition, did the water coupling at the front of the engine fail? From memory I think daveznc29 had the same problem not too long since

Honestly, the first ride was a bit of a let down. Mainly due to a hesitation around 5-6k rpm. I think I've got it fixed or at least I think I know how to fix it and since it's running better it's a real joy to ride, completely different to what I'm used to with the V4s, I really hope I can completely iron out the issue so I can really enjoy it.

It was leaking out a bit, nothing major but now seemed the time to do it as I didn't want it leaking properly once I have the bike in the road, I suppose I could have tried a bit of a cowboy repair to keep it going a while but £100 or so has it fixed and hopefully I'll never need to worry about it again
