And thats assuming you get everything fixed, i for one wouldnt touch it with a barge pole after some of the goings on with it. Id put money on it even the place that offered you £1200 for it will take one look at it and withdraw the offer. Your in a rut, paid over the odds for a fucked bike, spent even more money on it and have a bike worth half what you paid for it.
A new R6 would be cool* - but not for winter and not on finance either without getting fully comp insurance (which I would expect to be mandated in the finance agreement)
*it would not - they are gash as road bikes. Get an old YZF750..they rule
why would i buy an old bike. i bought one and look what happend. never will i ever buy a pre EFi/DFI bike ever again. its too problematic its too much hassle for someone who just simply wants to ride. R6 isnt bad. especially the newer ones, ive ridden one and i liked it. my dad dad even said not to buy this bike youl regret it. should have listened.
im either getting an 06 R6 or a Daytona 675.
i REALLY want the mv agusta f3 if it wasnt 10 grand, id buy it.

I quite agree. My NC35 has been SO problematic that with regular servicing I've covered 80000kms on it in 10 years. During that time I've broken down once due to the fuel tap diaphragm deciding it would no longer hold the tap open, once due to the reg/rec dying, and once due to the reg/rec wiring having corroded and parting company. All component age related issues. I don't think that's too bad for a bike designed to be ridden three years and scrapped due to the strict Japanese licencing and MOT laws, and the NC30 is reputed to have better build quality!

You're in luck. I am also selling my mint MV F3 and will agree to a straight swap given your bike is a runner and has been well cared for.
Will have to end my listing early though....

Xivlia, I reckon you've done really well with this bike for a 19year old. You've stuck at it for a year, and not many guys your age would have done that. And they are complex. I could not have sorted one at your age, neither could my children. It was a bad choice of bike, agreed, you would have had more fun on a Hornet.
But we all make bad bike buying decisions, key is to fix it, shift it and move on. And you will sell something you regret. But don't buy a bike expecting to keep it for 3 years cos you won't, believe me. You'll probably change your bike every year till you find something you really like. And stop mechanicing....

thanks, yeah. i had to buy a 400cc bike because that was the limit on my insurance. anything higher it was like 2 grand per year. a hornet is 600cc? that would of been way too expensive. believe me, the nc30 was not my first choice, it was just my only option, it was a last resort.

I'd offer to sell you my R6 but:
a) I don't want to sell it, she's my baby.
and
b) it's a carbed model, which by all accounts is better than the later FI models anyway

I find this funny because when I looked for a bike my first choice was the nc30, and ive not regretted it once! I wouldve thought that youd be alright with keeping and fixing yours when needed considering it seems youve had it apart quite a few times!
GL anyway, hope you sort it

Someone should warn the Yamaha R6 forums.
