Long time no update.
Life got hectic, and winter came along, plus I've moved again now so slowly finding my feet ready to set myself up with the bike again for summer.
But there has been some slow progress.
I managed to sort the speedo calibration, I'd put a magnet in the wrong way round (whoops).
After that there was a fair bit of Sunday ride out's with the club and I racked up a fair few miles and went through another rear 090....
Before that though I got the valve clearances done and tidied up the shit storm that my wiring loom had become after fitting the speedo, charging upgrade, earth kit, manual fan switch, low beam relay etc.
Unfortunately I have no pictures as I changed phone since then and forgot to upload them to my computer, numpty.
Got my first weekend at home since moving this weekend, and after finishing early on Friday I got home whilst it was still light. So I took the bike out for a blast, she didn't miss a beat once I'd got her started and warm. So back in the garage for the night she went ready for some more fun yesterday until my Dad pointed out that the garage floor had a nice pool of green coolant on it. Damn.
The cause was a stone had smashed into the lower rad at some point on Friday and it was now leaking. So I drained the cooling system and have left it there until I can get myself a new lower radiator (preferably before I try take the bike back south with me).
While I had the bike out the garage on stands I thought I'd fit the HRC link and new BMW shock I had bought a few months ago

.
So out came the heavier sprung shock and standard linkage.
New shock next to the heavier sprung one. The red spring looks more factory, but I think I'll miss seeing that nice purple under there.
And in goes the new linkage and shock, after filing the new shocks top mount
I've started stockpiling nice little bits for the bike and think I will until I've got all I need to really tart it up. Next will be a new 090 and 092 for the rear wheels, and a new chain and sprocket kit as the old one is not fairing as well as it used to.
I've got some tasty SES goodies already sat here at home and plan to add to that with some clip-ons, levers, fairing/clock bracket, single seat conversion (hopefully) and chinese panels to make her look nice as well as ride nice. Only taken me 3 years so far!
Plus I have two trackdays already booked for this year with the new club I've joined since moving, so roll on Spring/Summer!
