Would be very interested in a set of the darker carbon protectors when I'm back from a Euro trip in mid June. If you could do an FZR400RR single seat tailpiece in that carbon - that'd be great too

No problem.. PM me for payment details and I am getting more carbon Kevlar this week so it would be next week when they are finished.. I have not made any swing arm covers for a while as I was trying to alter the mould a little. They worked Ok but I wanted to make them a little bit thicker so I can make some fromt he original moulds (Same as the Photos on here..) For an extra £30 to cover materials and consumables if that id OK?

Total cost £110.00

ooh ooh! how did I miss this?

when your making ibby's, can you do a second set for me? I'll pm you...
:)

both ibby and I were talking other day about a rrsp single seat unit - most of the originals are cracked and nasty -I was thinking of having a go myself, but you are the master, and I a fat fingered chimp.

I've got a very tatty old one you can have as a mould?

I think any parts to be copied need to be as close to pristine as possible.

Pants... No problem.. Do you want Carbon or Carbon Kevlar?

Making a seat is not a problem but as Boris said it should be from the best possible part... I could get a mould made from a slightly rough pattern but then it needs to be repaired and coated and polished up to the best possible finish and make sure the shape is not altered or any distortion is in the pattern part.

But like most things it is down to cost.... For a rough guide any part would need to sell between 5 (larger parts like fairings or seat units) to 10 for smaller items. Just to cover the cost of the mould. Having to fix the part and do work to it would mean more parts have to be sold or the price goes up to cover mould making.. The other little problem is quality of the finished part... Wet lay will never give a perfect finished part without a lot of work... The options are other techniques which are pre-preg which is the lightest possible part and the most expensive or infusion which is more expensive than wet lay by about 30% but does give a better finished part.

OK... Had a chat with my mate at Pro fibre... Not the Slovenian one..The on in Coalville...Although looking at some of the women in Coalville.... Ermm..... best leave it at that....

I can get a discounted rate on having a mould made if I can source a good race kit for him to copy and a good road bike head unit and tail unit to get the headlight and tail light orifices in place.... If I stick to the road versions and Rich at Pro Fibre does the race ones... As he is a good mate I would suggest racers and those wanting a race kit go directly anyway....

So if I can source a full kit for road and race then he will give me a good price.. Once I know that I can sort out a price for you guys...
