So some more stuff done, firstly the selector drum is in but then the laptop died so we couldn't refer to the pics we took so more on that another day.



Also this arrived in the post today which is mighty fine and also mighty light.



As you can see it's the same size as my CDI and utilising an old ally tyga battery box I have is quite a nice solution as to where I can keep both of them which works really well meaning I only have to find somewhere for the starter solenoid and reg rect at that end of the bike.



Now don't laugh but I started work on the subframe, loads of measure twice cut once and this is what I ended up with...



Which supports the seat unit really well..



But....when I started to do the diagonal upright supports I ran into an issue





There is a lump of frame in the way meaning I can't get the desired angle, now I was going to start sawing and cutting but thought I would call it a day.

So it it possible to take a wooden frame to a fabricator and get them to copy it?

IS the battery not going to need to be kept cooler than a std one? I suppose they kick out some heat when taking charge? Or did I read you are running total loss??

I'm gonna drop durbhan an e mail as I want to know weather I can use an optimate so I'll ask about the heat thing at the same time.

You wanna keep that battery cool mate, under 70 degree's i think.

An optimate will kill it so ive been told, durbahn has his own special chargers but im pretty sure the ones sold in model shops for elecy cars are the same thing. I decided against getting a charger after hearing storys of them lasting for years without charging and balancing.

Bugger that's a pisser I was quite chuffed to find they both fitted in that box.

Looks like it's back to the drawing board there.

ok so thats 3 that should bring the price down.

the only things you would need to know about are you will need a couple of 8mm I think spacers for the lowerpart where it attatches to the frame although I could get these made up as well and you will have to make your own provisions for a battery/box as I have not taken this into consideration.

Bear in mind SES sell almost the same thing I have built for the RS250 for £65
