Re: Billing's Bikes
I'm now £70 lighter
I got bored with my phones camera being shit and broken, so bought a digital camera, Fujifilm AV something or other 14mp so much more than I'll ever really need

Re: Billing's Bikes
Right, got power back again after realising I'd hooked the starter solenoid up backwards, I just have to tape the wires up and it'll be done :) Tomorrow will be filled with getting the carbs back on the bike, after cleaning the top of the engine anyway :)

Re: Billing's Bikes
My only achievement today was finally properly taping the loom up, I have to give it a quick once over in the proper light still, but it looks like it'll be just fine taped all of the bare connections first, then bound all of the wires together, so looks fairly stock from the outside.
I've tested all of the electrics, and the good news is they all work fine, the engine spins over (but won't start due to having neither a reg/rec or carbs atm) so can only assume it's all good no more annoying alarm going wrong and not disarming at me
By the end of sunday I will have the throttle grip reassembled, and at least made a bloody good effort to get the carbs back on properly, I might even have it running aswell if I'm lucky

Re: Billing's Bikes
Brilliant
got the carbs back on the VFR with next to no trouble, who said they were the devils own design?
All in all, I think it took me about 15-20 minutes to get them from being in the shed, to on the bike ready to have the clips tightened, only really needed a smear of WD40 (sprayed it onto my fingers then wiped them on the inside of the rubbers) and they went in with a pop. I started at the front left, got that just inside, then the front right and got them seated. This left both rears pushing down hard on the rubbers, so a little bit of pushing got the rear left in place, and the right followed suit after getting less than half a cm of rubber to stop bending inwards with the help of a tiny flat blade screwdriver
Now hooking all the cables and stuff back up and it should be ready to start within the next hour, just those last PITA jobs to do (cable lengths, hoses, airbox etc)

Re: Billing's Bikes
I nicked the float bowls off the complete set as the 2 that were damaged on mine were the same as the ones that were damaged on the split set
I haven't gotten around to freeing off the complete set, but will do soon
I forgot that I didn't have the regulator on the bike because the CBR's went pop, so first thing next month I'll be getting a finned one (unless someone has a spare one they could send me and let me pay them back a week on friday?
)

Re: Billing's Bikes
sweet, I'll try and get round and pick it up some time (literally no money until payday now
) Tomorrow I'll see if my old one works still, it had a thick white crust behind it which was stopping it from earthing on the frame which I've now cleaned off.
Hopefully going to find some time for the bikes soon, just work is getting in the way atm
