Can't you make up a set of decent carbs with what you have knocking around?
Wish I could mate - I actually bought a full set (after my last carb problem) but they are sooo filthy that it would take me a month to fix them up - also in this set one of the discs i.e. that gold disc which sits in the housing is knackered (ironically in the carb I need). I bought some spares from Mark but again ironically the one I need is the one with the broken choke arm.
So can anyone send me a carb housing - has to be that specific one!

Hey it's for cylinder #3 i.e. when you're sitting on the bike its the one in the bottom right corner - have you got one?

So guys a few weekends have gone by - I managed to clean up the space carb that I had and re-built the carbs.
Yesterday I re-routed the wiring loom as I'd got it wrong the first time. Today I played the fun game of get the carbs back on - after about a dozen attempts I cracked it - the trick being to heat up the rubbers (I used a heat gun) once they were soft it wasn't to difficult to shift them into place - put it this way it was easier than the first time I did it.
Anyway, carbs on, air box on, tank on, wiring checked, keys in the ignition and a minute later it was on. Patting myself on the back here as it revved perfectly around 3k and I didn't need to play with the idle adjuster
However, it's making a load knocking sound

The knocking isn't that obvious but it is there, you have to turn the sound up loud! Initially I thought it was the rad fan but that isn't the case as it never even came on. I checked the engine bolts they are all tight, checked the clearance of the rad to the front exhaust pipes no problem there. I let the bike run for a good 15 minutes, the temp kept in the 90's i.e. no overheating but I couldn't find the source of the problem - I reckon it's mechanical and might involve looking at the cams again, any thoughts anyone? Either way it's going to be a ballache to sort out - It's looking pretty likely that I won't be getting the bike finished this year

Have you balanced the carbs yet?
Off balanced carbs can often make a noise thats rumbley.
I couldn't make out the noise from your videos.
Does it go away with the clutch pulled in?
Is it low / high pitched.

I've balanced them as best I can using the drill bit method - don't have a carb tune kit, as the rev's are spot on could they still be off sync?

Nope, did try that but it didn't make a difference
Is it low / high pitched
I would say low pictched it's a definte rattle/tap/tap noise it's definitely not smooth like it should be

Again been a while since the last post - not really had any time to work on the bike as I've been away.
Anyway, Speedy thankfully came over and gave the bike a once over and like Neosophist suggested balancing the carbs and luckily he had the kit to do it. Anyway, as the weather was good today thought I would give it a crack. First I fixed the fuel leak from one of the carbs which was caused by the diaphram being folded in on itself (school boy error).
Next up getting the vacuum guage on - this was not too difficult flicked on the bike and the gauges were all over the shot and there was nothing happening on cylinder 2 which is because of a weak/zero spark anyway didn't even get to tweak anything and the fuel ran out of the carbs so stuck the tank on to go again but no fuel in the tank bummer. Off to my mates grabbed a petrol can and some fuel and back to the bike - fresh fuel in turn on the bike and nothing but while I am not looking a flood of fuel gushes out PANIC turn fuel tap off and find that fuel hose has come off carb - fuel has now wrecked all my painted parts
Anyway stick fuel pipe on and try to crank the bike and battery dies - at this point throw in the towel and give up. So it's the begining of winter the bikes in a mess and the wife's also not happy due to the man hours spent on the bike already thought I was getting somewhere now back to square one - now I'm thinking of jacking it in and sell the thing for parts!!!

Petrol resistant lacquers a must!
It's not the end of the world anyway.. at least you're now getting somewhere.. Since you had a tripple that might explain your weird noise
Bit of fettling and it'll be good as new in no time at all
