Little bit of an update, sorry nothing super exciting. I've been trying to straighten up all the wiring, hoses etc and replacing small things here and there now that it runs.

My mirrors were Emgo's so I ordered some brand new OEM's.


I had to break down and finally buy a petcock. I tried the rebuild kit but it still just spilled fuel when you'd take the tank off.

Dude, where did you get the OEM mirrors, and how much were they?

Suzuki Japan. I think they were about $32 a piece if I remember correctly. I have a friend there that can order whatever you like. He does charge a fee though for the service.

sounds sweet, wish i had a garage like that to work in. Currently rebuilding my mates 400 engine but in my living room so i have light and space.

them downpipes look so cool. My mate has the tools to make his own so im gonna try it one day

thought when i got mine @ S$50 a piece was expensive but seems like its not. heehee. by the way, got mine @ singapore suzuki distributor. down here, there's few distributors selling @ different prices.

Progress has been slow lately. The heat (a lovely 106F) and fixing leaking toilets has kept me out of the garage. I did end up ordering a clear double bubble screen from Skidmarx to finish off that 90's Suzuka look. The quality appears to be very good and it fit the aftermarket upper with little fuss.

I also have the carbs off again because I wasn't happy with the way all the fuel and vent hoses were fitting. In a pinch I had purchased automotive fuel hoses and they are just too damn thick. I also ordered clear for fuel line and blue for vent hoses for easy identification.

heya just drain oil into a clean tub and drop sump if its clean of debris or strange metalicy colours then id say you good to go first sign of engine problems are found here before failure of anything

Ok, a new headache I need help with. I needed to replace the old fuel tap as it leaked. I went ahead a bought a genuine Suzuki replacement. Now, I have the opposite problem; no fuel. Here are the symptoms and I'm running clear fuel lines so I can easily see when fuel is flowing or not.

1. Bike runs and sucks fuel from auxiliary tank.

2. No fuel flows from any of the three positions when everything is connected.

3. If I connect a separate vacuum hose to back of tap and suck (insert joke here) I get nothing.

3. With tank off fuel will flow in the prime position so I'm guessing that means the tap is fine (it is brand new)

4. I did a preliminary check of the venting spots and did not find anything obvious.

What am I missing here? I did have the tank apart and hung to prime it. Any ideas?
