Bought a another NC30 today and it came with these

Now ive seen a Jap handbook before but never a Jap service book

Are you sure the service book is for an nc30? It looks like a '126cc' marking in the corner?

I thought that but its filled up with references to VFR 400, also has hand written references to BEET and KISS.

Bike is on a N plate declared manufactured in 96 on the UK V5 which the service schedule backs up with the first service also in 96 so must have sat unregistered in the showroom for a few years. Also i cant be sure they are actually service intervals as i cant read japanese but 8 service entries in 1996, 4 in 97 and 5 in 98!! all with different mileage noted on each one.

Sorry Vic its not really much to look at now as i already part stripped it last night to clear the 12 years worth of cobwebs out although heres one badly taken photo from the ad.

Hi nickbawt, just looked through that gallery and noticed you said about replacing the 0.5mm washers on the carb needles with 1mm washers eliminates the flat spots which vfr400's have. Have you done this on many vfrs? and how much where the washers and where did you get them from?
I dont want to fiddle with the carbs myself but if i took it to my local garage would they be likely to do it for me?

Hey IOW vfr, yeah I emailed Rick Oliver and he was kind enough to put a kit together for me. The higher needle height from the washer has helped my mid-range, and from reading around the forums the flatspot is quite common especially with slip-ons etc.

As for work, it was pretty straight forward. Im a very novice home mechanic and I managed it without much trouble. I followed Cammo's carb guide he has made up which was a huge bonus as I didnt have my Haynes manual with me at the time.

If youve got the right tools you could do it yourself. Once you get the carbs out its only about a 15 minute job replacing the washers. Im sure a shop would do it for you but youd pay a few hours of labour at least.
