Re: Kierans type one resto with a few fancy bits.
Ive just ordered a full new set rather than using the old ones, they where only about 4000miles old but i may aswell change them now.
Tried swapping them front to back but it didnt work either, hopefully a new set will sort it.

Re: Kierans type one resto with a few fancy bits.
Right found out why my front 2 plugs wernt sparking after i had a look at the coil thinking it was a bad earth only to find one of the wires had snapped, so i soldered that up with a new connector, plugged it back in and decided to try and start the bike again. Battery was flat so i tried with the jump leads from the 800 and she fired up incredibly quick heres a little vid of it running with the JHA's (turn the volume up)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1KBEm_S02s Yes i know the garage is in a shit state, had the pikeys round the other day asking for scrap metal so i moved all of my tools and spare parts out.
I am confirmed for the trackday at cadwell in august but im a bit worried the exhaust may be too loud its 150db day but if im honest the video makes it sound quieter than it is! Other than that im happy, it seems to rev up much faster with the RVF camshafts fitted and the engine sounds ok after the head rebuild.
Have done a few other odds and sods nothing too interesting really, next step is to get my wheels back from the powercoaters sort the last few little issues and get it MOT'd

You are leaking some coolant from near the water pump. Check the video from about 1:55.
It don't matter if i'm fixin' it or ridin' it.

Yea my mate pointed it on out facebook too
i did notice it after i turned the bike off its only the inner left hand water hose clip that wasnt done up tight enough.
Also just heard my wheels are done so i may be going to pick them up tonight, will sort some tyres and see if i cant take it for a quick ride up the road to check everythings working ok and its not leaking

Re: Kierans type one resto with a few fancy bits.
So i have got a few bits done on the bike over the last couple of weeks, fitted the C&S, bled the rear brake, sorted the water leak, fitted new pads, fitted new spark plugs and re solder the broken front coil wire plus a load of other little parts to just get it ready for the MOT.
Got the wheels back fitted the tyres and bearings today fitted them all and finally took it off the paddock stands for the first time and rolled it out into the sun for some photo's:

Jap spec clock will be replaced with a UK item that i got cheap off ebay the other day.

So there we are, now time to dress it in the patchwork plastics do one or two little bits and get it down for the MOT early next week, hope you all like the photo's.

Looks really nice. Well done.
I hope the Lucozade bottle is only a very temporary fix?
Get some trick rearsets on it too

Thanks Alex, yea its only to get it on the road, the RC30 seat unit doesnt fit too well with the original expansion bottle in place so i will be buying a HRC one soon as ive got a bit more cash, proper skint atm.
Must admit im not a fan of fancy rearsets, allways liked the originals over anything else if im honest, might try a set out one day though.

Looking good Kieran, love the exhausts.
Just one thing, you need to push the forks up into the top yoke more so the forks circlips fit in the recess on the clip ons, should be about 2-3mm of fork showing out of the top yoke.

Re: Kierans type one resto with a few fancy bits.
Thanks Kris, glad i went with the white wheels in the end reckon it goes with the kevlar better than gold would have.
Cheers for pointing that out mate, think i may have misplaced my circlips as i completly forgot about that
off to the garage for the afternoon to get some spannering done, so i might have a photo of the patchwork fairing to show later this evening.
