Not sure mate, its been that long since i had a rvf im unsure of what the differences are between the vfr and rvf gearboxes? Think ive read that people prefer the vfr one for track use?
For races the rvf gearbox is much better off the line (while still allowing fairly high overall gearing) made a big difference to my race placings!
I prefer the feel of the closer ratios of the vfr box though, you can always gear it down so that the tall first gear is more user friendly.

Read Mike's blog about his REM'd engine parts on the Gforce bike, ive a mate who runs a custom gear firm (elite gears) and i can run gears through his machine for sensible money.

Took the old dog to Mallory yetserday for the weekly afternoon test session they have to try out my new carb setup. The bike felt really healthy and was flying compared to how it normally feels not to mention the noise it makes
Will have to adjust my gearing i think for the next time i go as it wasn't quite right and grow bigger balls for the entry to Gerrards but was happy with my progress there.

OK but dont laugh
First 20 minute session 1m 9's
Second 20 minute session 1m 7's
Third 20 minute session 1m 6's
Never really got a clear track though as it was full of classic nortons etc so plenty to get passed but felt confident i could keep dropping my times but they only run three sessions for bikes so will go again soon to see what i can do.

Glad to hear the bike was flying, what's a 'normal' time for mallory on a 400 then.
