Got the 33bhp restrictors out...can't believe i didn't realise what they were when i did the carbs lol....been bugging me for weeks

.....
Sorted the rectifier and had the bike running and warmed up earlier....checked battery and genny and all readings correct..
All the problems i had are now gone, although i never got to check the top end....not the best with snow and ice every where. Ticks over and warms to four thousand revs on choke in a couple of mins then once shes there she ticks over fine till she's warm. Then she revs up with no stutter or cutting out with a blip on the throttle...Rick seems to be right....even on short run ive had it seems fine with 120 122 jets on my stainless system...whatever it is?!? and cam many thanks guide also seems to have worked wonders! Maybe you could add in your post a little note to remove the restricting washers (if present) for newb's like me! The rubber flap everyone keeps mentioning? Is that the one which is clipped across the bar by the front of the intake? What does it do? Is it meant too just sit up on the bar like a tongue hanging out....didn't seem quite right where it was on mine... anyone have a pic of how it should be? Cheers to anyone who's helped....

the Big bottom rubber flap goes over the top of the camshaft/rocker cover the smaller one goes up and over the bar with the loom cable tied underneath the bar. the smaller flap then goes tucked under the carbs.
hope this helps

Yeah I think it's the same!! You will notice a big difference top end once it's fitted!!
I can't really comment on 35 carbs!
But on the 30 carbs I would start with 122,s all round! .5 shim or buy some RO needles which will be raised already! Got that set up on both my bikes which use twin exhausts and it's spot on!!
Kris
I ran the .5 shims on my 35 carbs and it made it run very rich, was a little sluggish low down but fine through the rev range. I never had it dyno'd with the shims so i cant be sure thats what it was, but after i took it out the exhaust stopped getting sooty deposits.

It's a much better solution to use the replica hrc slide springs (Rick Oliver sells them) than 0.5mm washers with the rvf carbs.

It would be nice if the NC35's had a sticky for carby jetting

Yeah, probably a bit of an oversight on my behalf.
Stripping, cleaning and inspection of nc35 carbs is virtually the same as in the guide (they just look a little different). Use hrc replica slide springs (available from Rick Oliver) instead of a washer to richen up the midrange, and leave the pilot screws at the factory setting (1 & 5/8 turns out).
As for jetting, if the rvf has a loud pipe or a half system, use 112 jets all round, if it has a full system go for 115 jets. This is assuming the airbox and filter are standard, and the rubber induction flap is in place.
The keihin jets are part number 99101-393-### (### = your required jet size). You can order them from your local distributor.
Thats about it.

You my man... are a king amongst men.
(no offence to everyone else... honestly

)
Thats the exact advice I've wanted to hear for so bloody long.
I'm sure I could of found it by reading through a million different threads and sourcing different pieces of information together, but you just simplified my life.

Ive just taken apart a bike ive bought recently and found a plastic flap pop riveted on to the aif filter box bottom plate which bolts on to the carbs....it goes forwards and fills up the v shape in the frame toward the head set bearing? Why would anyone put it there???? any clues or should i just remove it?? (nc30) Cheers all for any help
