I had a bit of trouble with the lugs lining up on my tyga seat unit they ended up snapping off with the stress but that could have been because of the race subframe.

bike is looking great BTW :peace:

well back in the shed after a couple of months of doing naff all to the bike, and now i remember why, BODYWORK its driving me nuts , the seat unit just wont sit down at the back, the front 4 bolts line up but the back end just wont sit in the lugs at all and the under tray just hangs out the bottom , i thought it might be the cans (maybe somehow) are not letting it rest down , but i removed the cans to see if that helped but still sits up and wont pop down on the lugs, it really is driving me crazy , so im now thinking ive got a one off dodgy seat unit or subframe is bent but i really dont think it is ,
belly pan , i opted for the tyga closed lowers and they fit ok apart from the rear brackets (one attached to the stand and opposite side ) do not line up with the holes in the lowers by a good 2 inches and are way off , anyone else used these lowers on a road bike had this issue ??, lines up fine everywhere else so before i lost me temper i shoved it back in the shed with a head ache, so i had good intentions to do somthing constructive and ended up in a mood, im a bit miffed really as i hoped this tyga stuff would slot on smooth as silk but to be honest the cheap hong kong rubbish i had went on with less bother , im confused

Maybe some pics posted up will help mate but ive had 2 tyga seat units now and both have had issues with the mounting lugs not lining up resulting in them breaking off. I put it down to me using aftermarket Ali subframes tho.

hi chap

i know what you mean about the smoking thing , im just trying to cut down to 3 fags a day then stop fully and thats doing my nut in , talk about a short temper  , but with the seat unit i run a RC30 seat unit and had a similar prob with it not fully sitting so had a look and think and ended up choping the end of the sub frame off as i found the inside of seat unit was hiting the 2nd pillion seat brace , after cuting that off i found i had more room to play with , just a thought and pic of what i mean

Check the exhaust is not fouling the lowers. The closed lowers have a dam at the rear to act as an oil retention area for racing regs so this could be the problem. I noticed your exhaust is aftermarket so this could well be an issue and a lot of exhausts will need this area relieving to get it to fit. If in doubt, remove the exhaust and fit lower again. The rest of the panel was moulded off the OEM plastic with the mount holes in the stock position so it is hard to be 2 inches off without some other issue coming into play. Let me know if this is not the case and we can work through it.
