need someone on the rear brake too i reckon hardnut,,,plus i cant get anything to fit under the notch on the bolt which has been drifed down/locked.

gunna get the mrs to stand on the brake lol

tbf its prob not helping that both front n rear wheels are off,its on the abba, with no forks too and balanced on some wood under the engine to keep it upright lol. but ill grant a little harder next time i try.

fucking hell how tight did you do it up! mine comes loose with the rear wheel off the ground and just my hand holding one of the spokes, and thats with a normal socket wrench not a breaker bar.

you sure you aint talkin about the wheel nut?
the hub nut was well tight and is supposed to be about 203Nm.. almost double the wheel nut.

iirc, my missus was on the back brake and the rear wheel was on the ground

im on about the huge 46mm nut..... i had a go with my guns but found it difficult without someone on the brake !? the 36mm nut was tough....but the guns come through on that one lol

1 more quick question for you guys if i could, would i notice any obviouse markings/fetures if my forks ALREADY had the rick o kit fitted!? or is it all internal.....should prob check inside first befor spending out incase they already have the kit i recon....... is there any picks you lads have of the kit so i can tell if mine are old or ricks ones first, cheers lads.

i dont think there is a visual difference, best to ask rick to be honest.

but all i could tell was they were a little longer as they had less wear that the old ones.

and as for the 46mm hubnut i undid mine with a adjustable spanner whilst it was on the paddock stand!

i torqued it up with a socket, on the side stand and i think curt helped me with the brake etc.

my nut is tight as fook and a part of it has been bent down with a drift so need to get somin underneith it first....i ll get my mrs to hold the brake tonight and have another go. i dont think its been removed for a while lol

dont worry to much about where its been staked, just undo it with brute force 24" breaker/knuckle bar, turning anti clockwise (normal RH thread) so bar being push downwards from the rear towards the front,

front brake, back brake stick it in gear and push like a mo fo boyo!
shouldnt need any WD40 on it but it wouldnt hurt just in case, its just damn tight thats all. if you have a blow torch heat it up a little that will also help shift it.

cheers rick, i did try a little heat the other day too but no joy....i didnt really have a good go cos i needed someone on the brake lol and like i said, both wheels are off and its up in the air on an abba with blocks of wood under the engine holding her up lol she woobles a bit.

iv just popped to machine mart too and got a nice set of draper punch/drift bars for a 10 note :) bearings here i come . cant remember what i used on the mito now but these should make it easier for sure.

fk me, lol bearing popped straight out with ease. winner!! brand spanky new koyo ones......i called rick o too and he s hooked me up with some new bearings and also gave me info to reconize if my forks already have his kit or not, so cheers rick o if your out there . still ne joy with the 46mm nut though how essentual is it to undo!? id like to atleast inspect the bearings while its apart but what about things like changing over the sprockets/chain etc....and caliper.....can i do all that without touching the huge nut??
