Basically..no airfilter should make it unusable..as tested by me when racing and a retirement after warm up lap

I just need to stop my eyes pointing different directions and tasting of Tyskie...
I reckon (since the carbs pissing fuel occasionally) its really over-fuelling.. akin to having massive jets.
so when the air-filter is removed its made better..

Hehe, was i the only one sober last night?
Anyhoo, Changed all the floats and and valve from a spare set of carbs i had knocking around. Set the float hight to 6.8mm a la Haynes and rebuilt. All is back together.
Now that i have done the tap mod, is the starting procedure(choke, no throttle) the same as there is no vacuum or do i need to feed the carbs manually???

hello,
Went for a last minute surf break down to Newquay so only just had the chance to let her stretch her legs a bit. She will now pull to the red line but after 10kish rev's looses all umph.
I've changed all the float valves and adjusted the float high as above. The front right exhaust port is blowing like a trooper as I'm still waiting for the helicoil to turn up to sort out the sheared thread. How much effect will this have on power?
Also noticed a slight leak from the front head gasket just under where the carbs sit so i guess i will add one of those to the list.
How much impact are these to problems likely to have on performance or does it still sound like a fueling problem??
