were is the rev limiter on a standard bike?

and tanuki that is the ideal situation and what i shoul really do but i cannot afford dyno time at the moment

and i know what 13k sounds like so shift then (clutchless ofcourse) but also keep an eye on the rev counter especially on the overrun under hard breaking so it dosnt go above 14 ish

redline on standard bike is 14.5k as far as im aware. I tend to find that the majority of my power is from 10k-13k.

I shift at 14k on my racebike, but a lot will depend on your bikes power/torque characteristics. The peak power of mine occurs quite a bit higher up in the rev range than a standard bike.

Ideally you probably want to shift at a point so that the next gear falls into the area of peak torque (about 12k rpm on a standard bike?)

What Stickshift said. On the road I'm always full throttle and shifting up at 10k. Its a nice compromise between being a windgat and not going bonkers and abusing the bike :)
