i find this thread good for 2 reasons, the sprocket for 1, how it even was able to carry the chain is almost beyond belief and the second is in relation to the very first pic.
this is the prime example of a bike pic being posted (lets say on ebay) and not looking that bad at all, young lad 19ish saved his hard (maybe) earned supermarket/apprentice wage and buys, only to find as you have (but not been swindled) underlying problems. im no fool my bike looks alright in the pics ive posted but get close up and there all sorts of problems (much like when you introduce the missus around, shes all sweet...... at first glance.......sssshhhhh).

Thought it was about time for an update...been busy with work etc blah blah.......

Frame has been etch primed and Satin blacked. Engine gloss black with st/st engine set. Purple Samco hoses on order.
The subframe has been powder coated...was $50 min cost at blasters...$60 to have it coated....

Wheels are off to the powdwer man this week, swing arm is being prepped for paint.
Bought one half of a 1098 Ducati muffler set...dirt cheap on ebay and looks the dogs...
Bodywork is being stripped at work...the seat unit had 1.7mm of paint on it...I measured a bit that I peeled off !!!! And now it weighs a lot less too......

Fecking great job... and cheap too boot!!! Wasnt a big fan of black frames til now... Ive normally gone down the polished route... hmmmm. Col

I have no clue..how did you paint the engine? Have you do this inside of the frame ?

I must be honest, I was thinking "Why go to all that trouble?? Is it really worth it?"

However, I've just seen that pic of the frame and engine when done and WOW..
