Thanks for all your help here. I fixed it and this is how.

to fix a tank leak, you need to do the following.

NOTE: This will only work if the hole is clearly visible. If it isn't visable then other methods are available.

1. Remove tank.
2. Empty all fuel from the tank into a suitable container
3. Rinse tank with detergent and water using a hose.
4. Purchase some Plastic Padding Chemical Metal from Halfords. (£4.29)

5. Clean the area around the hole using wet n dry.
6. Wipe off any excess dust created by sanding.
7. Mix up the chemical metal as instructed on the packet.
8. Paste the chemical metal over and around the hole.
9. Allow to dry for 1 hour.
10. Fill tank with water checking the location of the hole to ensure the leak has gone
11. Repeat from 5 if you locate further holes.
12. Empty tank and leave it to dry over night.
13. Fit the tank back on the bike.
14. Tip the fuel from the suitable container mentioned in 2 into the tank.
15. Start the bike
16. Got to the petrol station and fill her up
17. Job done. :D
