Re: Help please loss of power and then cut out
Some of the issues are due to modifications, for example using 60/55 bulbs in the NC35[1], the UK NC30 has a second relay for the low-beam, the domestic version doesn't and if you run the easy to get 60/55's with the tabs snipped off instead of the hard to get (IIRC) 60/35's the hi/low switch melts and packs up.jo wrote:sounds like you have the same problem as I had last nightthese NC30 electrics are a bastard
The reg/rec is a common failing on *lots* of bikes, hardly just the NC. For example Suzuki had a period of unreliable reg/recs (GSX's), the 'fix' was to use a Honda (superdream) one....
Druid
[1] And probably the NC30.

Re: Help please loss of power and then cut out
My 30 did this today. checked voltage stationary and then running - 12 v for both. Swapped to spare rectifryer and then voltage differences appeared as expected.
I would try another rectifier before any thing else.

cheers fella, when you say stationary do you mean engine off, and then running at idle?

yes stationary meaning ignition and lights etc off. (12v) . When I started it I had the same, even when revving engine.
New rectifier fitted and engine running would respond to revs by increasing the voltage slightly.

Re: Help please loss of power and then cut out
my money is on the stator windings being goosed....the fact that the battery is getting a charge indicates that reg rec is working but its a low charge......same thing with mine and it was a fecked alternator.you should do the alternator test to be sure before blowing money on a reg rec
please,god,....give me the chance to prove that winning the lottery won't spoil me!!!
