Re: Xenon bulbs
Hello, All,
I can vouch for the adapter rings as being A1. The service from this guy is excellent, too.
If anyhing they are too good, being a VERY accurate fit, and need a light dressing of the edges (a bit "sharp") with 1000 wet or dry paper, used dry to fit perfectly.

Re: Xenon bulbs
...........forgot to say in last posting..........please don't read this as though I'm being trying to be critical - I know everybody's doing their best to help.
I had a look at the link provided by thrasher, and whilst it's what everyone wants to know, it's hardly a definitive illustration of what needs to be done, is it?
Surely one of you Smarties that have already done the mod. can give clear, perhaps labelled, pictures, and a text to accompany it! Maybe a wiring diagram might be a good idea, too.
Nowhere can the actual connections to the relay, for example, be seen. It's sort of a 'start and finished and ain't I clever' sequence. Reminds me of the TV phrase "here's one I made earlier"!
All I can figure from the pics is a jumble of white cables that could go anywhere, and as for showing pictures of the tools needed, I reckon anyone could figure out what they needed if they were going to attempt this job. The insulating tape shown, I hope, was only temporary!
Or is that the 'bloke who complains about his lights not working every five minutes!!!???
Contradict me, please, if I'm wrong, but the issue seems to be switching from pilot to head lights, so couldn't you leave the lights on all the time (i.e at start-up), or is it the dip switch that burns to a crumb?
Rarely if ever are parking lights either necessary or used, most sensible riders drive on dipped beam, even in daylight, and more and more modern 'bikes are cabled like this, and have no light switch anyway.
:) Await ear-bending!! :)
Cheers - SWIFT

Re: Xenon bulbs

did you unzip all the files and open the web page that was with it?

dont know who originally wrote it but it was on the old forum under the workshop section.
print it out and get all your bits you need together then its pretty straight forward when you start following it.
youll hear the new relay click when you switch to dipped lights. the other relay clicks when you go on hi beam.

..........thanks for the reply, thrasher. Ear bending willingly accepted - how did you know I had big earoles?
I'm not the best of people with computers, all I found to print were three pics. I'll give it another try, and see if there is more, I probably missed something. Failing that I have a tame nerd next door who will probably help.
At present I'm reading posts on tyre choices by the good folk on the other forums - I am just gearing up for the various things to be sorted in Spring when, (and if!!) this darned cold spell goes away!!
Cheers! -

Re: Xenon bulbs
That relay mod seems straight forward enough and easy to follow.
the lights on my rvf are on from start up. the on/off switch for the lights is gone. obviously it burnt out and the previous owner wired the lights this way. the bulbs are 60/35w.
would i still have to do the relay mod if i want to change to xenon bulbs
