Meno, I think you'll need to remove all the chrome before you paint. The problem may not be painting onto chrome, but more that you need to remove the chrome to kill the rust, which will definitely come back through the paint if left untreated as I'm sure you know.

I've no idea how to do this though; it might be worth contacting a rechromer and asking how they remove the old chrome before replating. It may not even cost that much to get them to do it for you. Let us know how you get on.

Oh, and my bike looks completely different now the exhaust is black insread of rusty brown! It has the effect of rejuvenating the whole bike! A few hours well spent I reckon. :D :D

well peeps.. just a quick update from me.. well infact a big thanks.. cus the combined of advice of you guys means that i got me exhaust off without any snapping studs :D :D :D
will be fitting the original ss pipe now. the moriwaki had 2 massive dents on teh underside making cylinder 2 and 3 downpipes half their width! also coupla pinprick holes. may not bother with the whole revamping it now.. will see how the original honda one goes.
im hoping those crushed downpipes may ahve been part of my running probs too.. as ive now m,odded to vaccuumless fueltap, enw coils, cleaned carbs and reset to original settyings etc.. but still ahd same probs with running as posted on other thread... ya never know it may have been teh downpipes (whatya think?)... will update ya once i get it back togehter :D
