new subframe fitted. excellent value for money.

having to fit a full new wiring loom 80 percent of multiplug have been changed to bullet connectors lol

clearly the previous owner was trying to locate a wiring issue .

one of the only plugs that hadn't been changed was the 2 wires from the pick up.1 of these were broken.

thankfully I have lots of old honda looms to borrow the correct plugs. just a case of fitting new pins to most the wires.

everything back from the platers . all looks like new

at some point I'll pull the motor and refresh it however I have a aprilia rs250 with a 350cc stroker and cylinder kit which is currently bleeding me dry

made some headway. valve clearances adjusted so all healthy and in spec. so easy with no cam chain getting in the way!

washed all the covers down and dried them off with compressed air. at first glance this seemed unnecessary. only when you looked carefully in the nooks and corners you see all the grit left over so be warned when having blasting done.

cam covers on. clutch cover too.

hit a problem with the wiring loom. my replacement loom is from a Japanese bike. my bike is a uk bike.

Haynes manual is correct for my bike but not for my replacement loom.... great!

Wiring loom shouldn't be too different, just remember that JDM bikes of the period had permanent running lights and lower wattage headlamps. You may want to add a relay or two for the headlights if you're planning on running 55/60w halogens, otherwise stick to 35/35w or fit LED.

thanks, I had wondered why there was 3 wires to the indicators which certainly explains that

linkage and swingarm bearings replaced.

frame was given a quick clean with some alloy wheel cleaner. it's great stuff but you would want to leave it on too long. any more than 5 minutes makes a right mess as it reacts with the aluminium.

all the powdercoated parts have had the masking tape removed which is a bloody job in itself lol

I noticed my dogbone part of the linkage is more like a m11 rather than a m10 so this will need replacement. is this a common problem on these?

M11? I've never seen an M11 thread on a motorbike. Are you sure it's not M12? Remember that Japanese hex sizes are smaller than EU. An M12 nut will need an 18mm spanner, an M10 nut will need a 16mm spanner, as opposed to 19mm and 17mm respectively in EU sizes.
