Luke I had StephenRC45 of gt performance look to set them up but he couldn't saying that the linkages were off so not all four of the slides were opening in sync. So I don't have them on the bike

Quote from Stephen:

the bike set up well on the f3 carbs but the linkages on the fcr are just impossible to set up. If I manage to set the slides equal at idle they are between 1 and 1.5 mm different on full throttle. You can't have that much error and be get the best out of the carbs.

Hmmm, that isn't good. I never made any adjustments with regards to the linkages so they have been that way for a while. Aren't the adjustable though? Looking through the pics I have, the linkages have a locknut and adjuster between the front and rear banks.

i think it was a case that if you adjusted the linkages to suit fully open they would be out elsewhere and vice versa

Providing the link arms are the same length on the carbs it should be possible to ballance them throughout the range.

It is an odd one. I feel bad because I sold them but then again, I never knew of this issue and made no adjustments with regards to the linkages. Every carb linkage had a rose joint and adjuster but it sounds like maybe the linkages themselves aren't translating the same amount of rotary motion into linear motion so increasing/decreasing the lengths won't fix the issue - just shifts it around.

Might be worth giving Mike Norman a shout as that is where I got them from and he would know a lot more info

Thanks
Luke
