Awesome work Dave, we will have to go for a beer to celebrate your achievements.
Hopefully will you be whipping everyone's ass at Cadwell, eh?

Indeed as others said...nice write up, great stamina to push towards a final engine. :peace:

Is that a donut oil cooler from an nc23/cbr?

Did you do the rc36 rear wheel conversion or is that one of the ones done by a forum member from Northumberland a while back ?
Did the rear wheel conversion myself, by turning down the spindle a tad and then making some oversize washer pieces to locate against the wheel castings to prevent it slipping on the hub.

Dave.

Yakama wrote:Excellent write up mate! It's guys like you that really keep these old bikes going!

Perhaps a write up on some of your other mods? Like the QS you made? ;)
Most of them are already here, 'cos I've been at it for ages in stages, but you are correct, I've not specifically detailed the QS. I'll get on the case, though it's a simple addition really.

Dave.

Thanks for all the comments guys, it's been a most rewarding process.

I think this particular donut was from a '600, but I ordered the bolt new from Honda.

I've lost count of the number of water pump covers I have modified over time.

And then ... the RVF water pump is different :o

Who knew

Dave.

wondering about the oil cooler

you have a water cooler and have drilled it out for a raditor too right.

Are you planning on running both simultaioniously?

Dave, very nice build and attention to detail.
Your pics of the oil cooler and filters have been very useful (ended up with a FZs600 cooler that does the trick)
I have just finished modding and installing your lower rad´s "twin brother" and it is massive. They both came from a set of bikes that belonged to Craig McLelland, I believe.
I did cut 4 rows on the top an added standard mounting points, but has been quite tricky to make it fit with the fairings.

Keep it up.
