it should look like this.

I have come across this before on neglected nc24s.

You need a new wateprump (nc30 one will fit if i remember rightly)

remove stand and waterpump hoses and flush with hosepipe until water is clea.. do same for radiator.. flush it both ways.

there are two drainbolts under the exhust downpipes.. remove them to aid flushing.

replace thermostat if junked.

replace rad-cap too

should run very cold after that and fan shouldnt come on until nearly into the red, which on an nc24 is hardly ever

see above... that waterpump is toast.

also its connected to the oilpump shaft so wont turn unless the motor is turning.

pps.. when you remove the waterpump to replace it, be aware all the engine oil will come out

waterpump long discontinueud, new price was aroung 175gbp.

there are aftermaket electrical pumps you could wire into the bike that you could probabyl source locally.

the only option is a second-hand one, which is no problem to use as long as you source one that has been used with correct coolant and not rusted up with normal water

That is nackered, there are no fins on the water pump. I will show you a photo of mine if you like to compare.

Also sludge tends to sit in the V part of the block, I know as I just stripped my engine and 1 jet wash and 1 industrial ultrasonic clean later and its still rusty but the sludge has gone.
