Webike list sunstar discs for both CB and VFR as model number KC501H.
http://japan.webike.net/HONDA/CB400SF/B ... 5/1012/mc/
http://japan.webike.net/HONDA/VFR400R/B ... 2/1012/mc/
Then I found these on yahoo Japan
http://page22.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/a ... l328970819
So taking on board webike listing the same discs and the Ad listing for both models I'm going to stick my neck out and say VFR discs should fit the vtec.....
Time to trail fit a set I think.....

Some CBR600 discs fit the VFR400R and VFR400R discs fit the CB400SF spec 1 vtec so it's very possible CBR600 discs fit the CB400SF spec 1

Understanding the CB400 series has always been challenging to me because of the bike's long production run with very few substantial changes during that period. I've noticed that there is a lot of conflicting information out there on the Web--not only from retailers but also from aftermarket manufacturers... The best I can do right now is the following:
The pre-VTEC CB400SF NC31 (1992-1998) discs measure 296 x 62 x 23 (OD, ID, offset). This is apparently the same as the CB-1 and the 1998-99 CB600F Hornet, but not much else (due to the offset).
The Spec I CB400SF Hyper VTEC NC39 (1999-2001) uses "mid" CBR900RR-type discs: 296 x 58 x 17, which are shared (in dimensions if not always in appearance) with the NC23, NC29, NC30, NC35, CBR600FS-W, VFR750FR-V, CBR900RRR-V and VTR1000FW-7 (among others, possibly).
Ciao,
